Wow… is this guy crazy or what ? 250 “simple” yahoo answers ? Or 500 ? First he says 250, then he says 500. How stupid can he be?! 10 seconds “at most” per post means that all 250 posts can be done in 2500 seconds/60 = almost 41 minutes. He wants only TARGETED answers (related to web hosting host) an he wants all the info put in an excel sheet as well. Considering these + the fact that he will probably give a shitty advertisement to be posted, which will probably be deleted in many posts, I recon that those 250 posts would require several hours of work if not more. All for $10 – that’s a good deal to start 2010 with … but not for the one that does the job surely !

Why on earth don’t you do these posts boy, if they are so simple ?

I’ve researched a bit and found out it’s an indian company called Shree Infotech coming from Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. So:

1 – they don’t use proper english – “result” instead of “results”, punctuation marks are missing etc.
2 – they want work done for more-than-low budgets, like:
20 articles written for $10-20
100 articles written for $10-60
3 – they seem to be, and probably are, a so called marketing firm from India who wants to rank for “houston seo”.

In fewer words, they “are” (yeah right) a marketing firm who can’t even seo their own website to rank well in search engines, but they want to provide SEO for their clients. They cannot speak english properly, they don’t have a budget to invest, but they want to be in top for “houston seo” hoping that they will get some rich USA customers to fill their pockets while doing dozens of useless articles and directories submissions.

So dear friends, BEWARE of lame companies from India, like the one mentioned above – it’s not the 1st time I see this kind of project being posted. I know there are some good ones over there, but those represent maybe 1-2% from all the companies out there.

So after 30 minutes lost to try and sort this matter out… guess what I found. I found this great page, where one can learn how to do a tags cloud in 1 easy step : just a line of command (of course, more lines if you want to control more things).

Again, simple, plain things rule over the more complex ones. In your face Einstein !

I bet you wonder what’s with the title of the post. Well, the ones that surf such freelance sites might know what I am talking about. This is how many projects start. People request several thousands links… but the fun part is not this, the fun part is that they want it for something like $500-$1000, and they want it as soon as possible, “in 1-2 months would be great”. My advice : be realistic. If you ever heard anyone that he got such an amount of links from a freelancer in such a timeline for such a price… THOSE ARE LIES. Believe me.

Assuming that you would find the person to bring you such things for such a sum and timeline, you have to take into account the time needed for the search engines to find the pages where your link was posted, to review it, and finally to index it. Also you have to know that bringing a lot of links towards your website in a short matter of time may trigger some alarms for the search engines, and your site might be penalized for “excessive non-organic links”.

So next time you need links for your website, do yourself a favor and stay away from the “I want 5.000 links to my website” cliché.

Two of the ones I like and use are : AdBrite.com and Chitika.com … I won’t start to tell you full stories about them, you can read a lot about this online. What I want to tell you :

- Adbrite.com acts similar with Google Adsense in terms of banner sizes, served ads etc. They don’t have any limit for the website traffic, which is a good point. Also they have a pretty good support, they answer the emails in 48-72 hours maximum.

- Chitika.com has a very nice search feature. A small search box appears on the website and people can search, receiving targeted ads related to what they searched for. The bad thing about this is that the box will appear only to people from USA, and not to anybody as expected from an international website.

Another site I tested and liked is BidVertiser.com – this one has a very nice feature which lets you see all the advertisers who want to advertise on your website, and you can approve them (or not).

So if your Adsense account is ever banned, don’t panic. Use one of the above ones, or search for something else online and use with trust. Adsense isn’t the program it once used to be, these days they don’t answer your emails anymore (or if they do, they do it with a big delay), tons of accounts get suspended with no reason at all, etc. So step by step, programs like Adbrite.com, Chitika.com and BidVertiser.com are entering the market and take a share of it. Good jobs guys !
